The Congregation Mission Statement

We are a family of Christians, drawn together by a common mission:
"To build and nurture an active Christian community; to support the mission of the Cathedral; to offer opportunities for exploring and expressing spirituality, affirming the diversities that exist among us; above all, through worship, service, and example, to bear witness to Christ's healing and reconciling love to neighbors, pilgrims, and visitors."

Bible Study

How does the Holy Spirit communicate to/through you? Starting April 27 and for the following 5 Sundays we'll read, mark, inwardly digest, and share the readings for that day's liturgy through personal and group insights. We'll meet in St. James' Chapel at 10 for the hour between services. Depending on responses, this may become a regular feature of our Sundays at St. John and St. Saviour. Jon Aceto will facilitate. Bring along your favorite Bible translation (we'll supply propers for those who need them) to enliven discussions. Questions? Email education@saintsaviour.org About our faciliator: Jon facilitated Bible Study for 8 years at Christchurch, Whitefish Bay, WI. His academic and personal spiritual background provided just enough supports to make participants more comfortable in this sharing environment.

    AIDS Walk with the Congregation

AIDS Walk New York is an inspiring event that we participate in annually to remember those we have lost and to help raise money and awareness for New Yorkers (and others) who are affected by HIV/AIDS. This year on 18 May we will join others as part of Episcopal Response to AIDS (ERA) and we will walk, ardent in spirit, to support the persevering determination to end AIDS. We will post updates through eblasts and on the Saint Saviour website. You can also contact missionandoutreach@saintsaviour.org or stop by the congregation table for more information.

In the meantime, if you wish to register to take part in this exciting and important event you can do so on the web at http://www.aidswalk.net/newyork/index.html. Please select "register and join a team" and look for Episcopal Response to AIDS - ERA as the team name in the drop down menu, and click there.

I do hope you will consider this opportunity to serve, to spend time in fellowship, and to meet others in our larger Episcopal community. If you cannot take part in the walk, please think about making a donation toward the
