The Congregation Mission Statement

We are a family of Christians, drawn together by a common mission:
"To build and nurture an active Christian community; to support the mission of the Cathedral; to offer opportunities for exploring and expressing spirituality, affirming the diversities that exist among us; above all, through worship, service, and example, to bear witness to Christ's healing and reconciling love to neighbors, pilgrims, and visitors."

Our mission statement says:
We are a community between the ages of 21 through 39 who seek a greater connection with God and with one another. As part of the Congregation of St. Saviour at the Cathedral, we sponsor a variety of events and gatherings and seek to provide a place where faith is explored, questions are encouraged, and relationships are fostered.

Some ideas:

At our last couple events, we’ve been talking about what we’d like the 20/30 group to do. Some ideas have included:
  • ultimate Frisbee in the close or basketball in the gyms below the Cathedral,
  • helping out with the soup kitchen,
  • a Taize service, or other alternative services,
  • and meeting on Sundays starting in the Fall for discussion groups on topics like Bible 101, Christian Spiritual practices and history, Living with Money, etc.
If you’d be interested in these ideas, let us know! And let us know what else you’d like to see going on.

With hope and joy in this Summer,

Matthew Pritchard, Chair
