In their Own Words: Fr. Michael Spurlock & the movie All Angels

In 2008, the members of All Saints Church, a small Episcopal Church in Smyrna Tennessee, were contemplating shutting their doors and selling their church. That Easter a community of Karen refugees from Burma, now known as Myanmar, showed up at the church. Their arrival was the beginning of a dramatic resurrection in the life of All Saints. The Reverend Michael Spurlock, Associate for Pastoral Care at Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue in the Diocese of New York was the Vicar of All Saints at that time. He will be on hand to tell the remarkable story of what God did to save a church through the arrival of the Karen. This story is the subject of the recent Sony Pictures release, All Saints, and Michael Spurlock is co-author of the book, All Saints: The Surprising Story of How Refugees from Burma Brought Like to a Dying Church.
