The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. John 3.8 (NRSV)
Dear Friends and Members of the Congregation of Saint Savior,
According to all variations of the news, a large snow storm is coming. I hope you all have a safe, warm place as well as provisions. I also hope you don't venture out too much in the weather. Because of that, our Tuesday Night Lenten class will begin next week and not this week. All the other goings on this week will be taking place and I do hope you can attend.
This morning at 11 AM we continue a Monday morning series on Christian Spiritual practices, and tonight, the Reverend Masud Ibn Syedullah is coming to speak on Muslim-Christian dialogue, Wednesday night the Manhattan North Inter-Parish Council is hosting another Lenten Eucharist and supper, and Friday at 1 PM, Bishop Dietsche is coming to continue the Lenten devotions in St. Martin's Chapel. The week is still full, though we look forward to hosting Canon Charles Simmons for Tuesday night Lenten dinner starting next Tuesday, March 21.
I'm also sad to announce the funeral of Catherine Scott next Saturday, March 18th at 2:30 PM in the Great Choir. My voicemail and inbox have been full of stories and memories of their life amongst the people and place of this Cathedral. Our prayers have been with them and all who mourn, and I hope to see you next Saturday.
In the meanwhile, you have my prayers.
